Dams don't exist for ever, but what will replace them is not clear. The key issue in any discussion of water is money. To talk about a water crisis hides intractable problems such as poverty. Consider the problems of water supply in Mexico City or Delhi. If you' re rich, you drink mineral water and may even have a swimming-pool--yet millions in such cities can't get safe drinking water. People talk about the coming water crisis. I believe we have one now. It is a water crisis for the poor.

Exciting as the prospeet of a new life seemed, it wasn＇t quite easy saying goodbye to the old onethe familiar faces, the familiar routine. This September, I was one of the volunteers to welcome the new comers and guide them around the campus. I found the familiar mixed feelings shown on their faces. Do you know as a boy, Jay was called Dull Stupid. But his mother Yeh Huimei, noticed that the quiet, shy boy seemed to dance practically when he heard the Western Pop music she used to play. His mother sent him to a piano school when he was four. When he has grown up, he had developed an ability for instant playing beyond his years. I learned to play the piano from 7 years old to 13 years old. I often feel bored when I practise playing the piano. But Jay was always crazy about playing the piano. I think he really likes music. So I admire him very much, and I call him “hero”.

I admire Jay. The real reason is when the others all denied him, he never gave up. He tried his best to change his life. I think it is good for everybody. I hope that everyone can learn from him---try their best to do everything. Then I think we will make the grade.

As the most important festival in China since ancient times, the Spring Festival is always being excepted by we kids. Because we don't need to do any homework during this time very 's really a precious holiday for us. And our parents are free from their work too. We go to our grandparents' to get together with them to enjoy the moment when the new year comes.

How I am Going to Spend the Four Year in College

There's an old saying that a goal without a plan is just a wish. As a student of Zhejiang University, only having a dream of becoming a scientist after graduation is obviously not enough. In order to realize my beautiful dream, first and foremost, I have to make a plan of how I am going to spend the four years in college.

I always believe that as a student, I ought to put academic achievement at the first position, because considering realistically, if my GPA is not high enough, my chances of getting into the world's leading graduate schools will be almost none. What's more, the four years' college life is the best time to eich my knowledge which is going to be very useful for my future career development. Therefore, during the four years, I am going to work really hard and spend most of my time in the library to learn as much as I can.

Besides, I have to join some school clubs for the purpose of training my communication skills and organizational and management abilities. In modern society, cooperation is needed everywhere. Even the smartest scientist cannot achieve anything in his laboratory without the help from his colleagues. When working with people, those abilities will help me a lot to get along well with others.

As the saying goes, "time cannot be won again". From now on, I will make my every effort to fight for my dream, and I firmly believe that one day it will come true.
